Handling and Storage of Martial Arts Mats and Safety Mattresses

Most damage occurs to mats as they are being taken from, or returned to storage, or when other equipment is placed on top of them. This must be avoided wherever possible. Mats should be stored flat where possible, or using a suitable mat trolley. Do not store mats next to hotwater pipes or radiators, as this will cause premature ageing of the foam inners and covers.
